Round 1: Sl st in the middle stitch of the longer edge of one of the yoke panels, place a stitch marker at the top of the stitch, sc 2, hdc 2, dc in each stitch until final two along this edge, 2 dc, 2 dc.  Chain 9 (11, 14, 16, 19, 21, 24, 26).  2dc in first stich of second panel, 2 dc in second stitch.  Dc in each stitch until final two, 2 dc, 2 dc. Round 26 (27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33): Remove stitch marker, dc 1, replace stitch marker, dc until underneath the first armhole, 2dc in one stitch, dc until second arm hole, 2 dc in one stitch, dc until stitch marker <120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 170, 180, 190>

Repeat Round 26 (27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33) until the top is the desired length.  Vary the position of the increases to avoid a visible line on the top.

After final round, hdc 2, sc until end of the round, sl st 2.  Bind off and weave in all ends.

*The top shown in the pictures has 11 rounds of increases. Estimations of yarn length are based on this top.

Straps (repeat on either side)

Row 1: On the front of the top (the side opposite the start of the first body round) starting at one of the corners, sc in the first four dc, chain 2 <4>

Row 2: Dc 4, chain 2 <4>

Repeat Row 2 until Row 14 (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21). Making sure the strap isn’t twisted, pin it in place on the back part of the yoke.  Check the fit of the strap and add or remove rows as necessary.  Sew to attach. Repeat on the other side. Weave in all ends.
